Steward had a standout week both inside of the pitcher’s circle and at the plate. She was instrumental in the Saxons going 3-1 on the week as she picked up one pitching win and her first pitching save of the season (second of her career). She was also a threat from the batter’s box, leading the Saxons with a .545 average. Inside of the circle, Steward pitched 10.0 innings with 3.0 against RIT to pick up the save, not giving up a single earned run in the contest while retiring three batters and only giving up two hits. She sat batters five times against SUNY Geneseo on Saturday while giving up only one earned run in the 4-3 victory. Steward only gave up nine hits against 41 batters faced. On the offensive side of play, Steward recorded six hits during 11 at-bats with two home runs (both in game one of SUNY Geneseo), two doubles, seven RBI and six runs. She walked three times and hit-by-pitch once while not being struck out even once. On the bases, Steward went 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts. Her glove was also perfect, recording two putouts and one assist on three chances with one double play.Â
