Gonzalez helped the Saxons close out the regular season with a dual-meet win over University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on Saturday afternoon during Senior Day. Both of his individual events were personal best times with one of them being a new Alfred University McLane Natatorium record. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Gonzalez reached the wall with a time of 57.50, snapping the previous pool record time of 58.61, held by AU Hall of Fame member and All-American, Brian Agro ’09. He then set a new personal best in the 100-yard butterfly, winning the event with a time of 52.64. Gonzalez started the day off as the breaststroke leg of the 200-yard medley relay, hitting a split of 26.72 to contribute to the final time of 1:36.06. He teamed with Youssef amr Abdallatif, Andre Ayala and Calem Striker as each member of the team had the fastest respective legs of the race. Gonazalez ended the day as the anchor leg of the B-team of the 200-yard freestyle relay. All four AU teams posted better times than Pitt.-Bradford.
