Spila scored the only individual points for the Saxons at the Empire 8 Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday, helping AU defeat both Hartwick College and Russell Sage College. She finished fourth in both the pentathlon and 60-meter hurdles. She also ran in the 4x400-meter relay to score another three points, totaling 13-of-15 points for the Saxons. Spila broke her own school record in the pentathlon with 3,191 points. Her best scores came from the 60-meter hurdles (822), the high jump (644) and the 800-meter run (638). Spila clocked a 9.48 in the open 60-meter hurdles to earn a No. 4 seeding to the finals on Saturday. She ended the finals in 9.51 to earn her second fourth place finish of the weekend. Spila ended the weekend as the second leg of the 4x400-meter relay, joining Zoe Rainville, Alivia Kocan and Annabelle Townsend to finish sixth in a time of 4:19.93, just over a second off of fifth place. Spila’s split of 1:02.26 was the fastest on the team.
