The freshman quarterback from East Syracuse, NY, guided the football team back from a 28-point halftime deficit and a 34-28 win in overtime against Brockport. Johnson, inserted in the second half, started the rally with a 74-yard touchdown run late in the third and added a second score in the fourth. His TD pass on the Saxons’ second play of their overtime possession gave AU the win. Johnson finished with 134 yards rushing and 157 yards passing and was named Empire 8 Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
