Junior Tatiana Mejia scored the game-winning run on Saturday that pushed the Saxons to the Empire 8 Softball Championship Crown as she hit a solo homerun in the top of the second inning, making it a 6-0 game. Mejia contributed to four runs in that game. First, she drove home Ashley Lugo with a double to left field in the first inning, then she crossed home plate after Mya Well hit a bomb of a homer to center field, her own home run in the second and crossing home plate after an Elena Ceja single to the Fisher shortstop in the top of the fifth inning. Mejia finished the game with a 2-for-4 showing at the plate. She ended the week with five runs and three RBI as well as two doubles to go with her homerun. Mejia hit .500 on the week, going 6-for-12 including two perfect 2-for-2 games at the start of the week against Russell Sage and Fisher.
