Senior Nunez neared a school record in the hammer throw as he tossed a 48.31m mark on Thursday at the SUNY Geneseo Beautiful Valley Open. His mark was 1.61m off of breaking the Alfred University school record of 49.92m and was well over the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference Championship qualifying mark of 47.50m.
