Sophomore Lindsay Piraino (Nunda, NY/Keshaqua) has been named the Alfred University Female Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Empire 8 XC Championship Meet in Houghton, NY.
 
Piraino was AU’s top performer in the meet with a time of 19:23.10 on the five-kilometer course, earning 17^th place.  Back during the first week of the season, she posted a time of 12:56.82 at Houghton’s Short Track meet, a two-mile race.
 
Piraino and the Saxons return to action on Saturday Nov. 14^th when they travel to Letchworth State Park for the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships.
