ALFRED, NY—Sophomore Patrick Brown (Olean, NY/Olean) has been named the Alfred University Male Athlete of the Week following his performance against St. John Fisher College last week.
In the match against Fisher, Brown won No. 6 singles to lift the Saxons to an Empire 8 win over the Cardinals in three sets over Kyle Stitch 6-4, 3-6, 7-3. Brown also paired up with junior Matt Bolaga (Goshen, NY/Goshen) to win doubles, 8-5. AU came out with a slim 5-4 victory and moved to 9-3 (E8 3-2) on the season.
Brown and the Saxons return to action Tues. April 21, when they travel to Rochester to take on Empire 8 opponent, Nazareth College.
