Wendt returned to his alma mater in September of 2026.

He was a four-year member of the AU indoor and outdoor track & field teams. Wendt earned All-Empire 8 honors three times with back-to-back 4x100-meter relay performances and one distance medley relay. He was active in the Athletics Department, being a three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a two-year team captain and even earning the 2024 Unsung Hero ALFY Award his senior year. While at Alfred University, Wendt also served as an Athletic Communications Intern, working to promote Saxon athletics and to host home events throughout the year.

Wendt graduated from Alfred University with his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sports Management.

Wendt went on to graduate school at Ithaca College, used his last season of eligibility to participate with the Bombers before becoming a Volunteer Assistant Coach for his final year, aiding with both sprints groups. He was a member of the 2026 Indoor and Outdoor Liberty League Women's Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year group. He was also a Student Mental Performance Consultant at Ithaca College, aiding in student-athletes in psychological skills training, working with the men's tennis, men's basketball, softball and football teams.
