Chris Boswell was appointed Assistant Sports Information Director at Alfred University in October of 2014 before a title change to Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in 2017. In January of 2022, Boswell was promoted to Director of Athletic Communications.

Boswell specializes in electronic/social media, videography and photography. He has been the Interim Director of Athletic Communications three times while at Alfred University, covering all the fall sports teams in each of those three time spans, August to October in 2017, August to September in 2019 and August to September in 2021. Boswell has also stepped into the role of a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Staff Representative in the fall of 2021.
In the fall of 2016, Boswell became the recipient of the NCAA Division III and D3SIDAÂ Recognition Award for his Division III Week video in the spring of 2015.

He was also one of the advisors to the Alfred University Drone Club, Saxon Fly, where he specialized in the operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

He came to AU from Division III Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, where he served two years as Assistant Sports Information Director, covering 24 varsity and four club teams. He also was Acting Sports Information Director at Vassar from March until July in 2013.

Boswell is a 2012 graduate of Mansfield (PA) University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with focuses in journalism and broadcasting. While at Mansfield, he worked in the Office of Sports Information for five years, serving as the primary media contact for several Mountaineer teams including women's soccer, field hockey, women's swimming and softball while also helping advance video and graphic production and was the public address announcer for all of the previously mentioned sports. In the summer of 2010, Boswell worked at Mansfield University to help launch the athletic department's first Sidearm website. He oversaw the redesign of the GoSaxons.com website that launched in the fall of 2017 and oversaw the 2021 redesign launch as well.

He is the 2012 recipient of the prestigious Bill Esposito Memorial Award. Presented by the Eastern College Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA), the award recognizes a graduating college senior or first-year graduate student who wishes to pursue a career in the athletics communications field.
