Tori Pellegrino joined the Alfred University men's and women's tennis staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2020 season following a solid four-year tennis career with the purple and gold.
While at AU, Pellegrino was a four-year letter winner for the Saxons, earning All-Empire 8 First Team Doubles and Second Team Singles honors in 2018. As a senior, Pellegrino was named Empire 8 Player of the Week and Saxon of the Week after a solid 4-0 performance in singles and doubles against Hartwick and Utica College on Sept. 23. She was the first Saxon Women’s Tennis student-athlete to earn the conference’s highest weekly honor since Rachel Cook ’16 did so in the 2014 season. In the classroom, Pellegrino was an Empire 8 President’s List selection, an ITA Scholar Athlete, and a member of the prestigious Chi Alpha Sigma honor society. She is currently wrapping up her bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering and is expected to graduate in May 2021.
Prior to coming to AU, Pellegrino was a five-year letter winner at Whitesboro High School in her hometown of Whitesboro, N.Y. Individually, she was a section runner up at singles in 2013 and led her team to a league championship and a Junior Team League Championship.
