Devon Withers was appointed as the first ever Associate Director of Athletic Communications for Alfred University beginning in October of 2024. Withers originally joined the Alfred University Athletic Communications staff as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in July of 2022. Withers previously served as the graduate assistant for Athletic Communications at Alfred University beginning in September of 2020. He graduated with his Master’s in Business Administration in May of 2022 while serving as the primary contact for the men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and men's and women's tennis programs.
 
Withers, a native of Rochester, NY, graduated from nearby SUNY Alfred State in May of 2020 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Sports Management.
 
While at Alfred State, Withers was a student assistant in the athletics program, working with the basketball, football, lacrosse, soccer, and softball teams. In addition to his prowess in the classroom, he focused on the field of sports journalism, completing internships with the Rochester Red Wings and the University of Rochester’s athletic communications department. Withers was elected President of the Sports Business Club at Alfred State in 2018 and organized multiple events that assisted undergraduate students with future opportunities. Withers also serves as the owner and founder of The Athletes Hub, a website dedicated to news and analysis from across the sports world.
