Hired at AU: Spring of 2021
Prior to AU: Assistant Athletic Trainer at Belmont University
Alma Mater: SUNY Cortland

Marley joined Alfred University Sports Medicine Staff in Spring 2021, and currently provides sport coverage for AU volleyball, men's soccer, cheerleading, women's basketball and softball teams. She also serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinators for athletics and as an adjunct professor for the Athletic Training Educational Program. 
Prior to her arrival at AU, Marley spent four years at NCAA Division I Belmont University in Nashville, TN. During her time there, she spent two years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working with softball, cross country and cheer, while obtaining her Masters of Sport Administration. She was then hired as a full time Assistant Athletic Trainer with the baseball and golf teams.
A native of Riverside, California, Bender earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training from SUNY Cortland. During that time, she supported the men's hockey, track & field, women's soccer, field hockey and softball programs while completing research for an Honors Thesis: “Landing Mechanisms of Athletes who have Sustained Previous ACL Reconstruction Surgeries”. Marley was also a four-year varsity gymnast, earning All-American Honors in 2016. 

Marley currently holds the following licenses and certifications:

  • Tennessee Department of Health Licensed Athletic Trainer
  • New York State Education Department Licensure in Athletic Training 
  • Functional Movement Screening (FMS) Level I Certification 
  • Certified QPR Gatekeeper
