Alfred University Athletics

2013: In her first season after transferring to AU, started in the outfield and hit .311 with 33 hits (two HRs, team-best three triples) with 20 runs and 17 RBIs.
 
Before AU: Transferred to Alfred University after playing two seasons at Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, NY, where she helped lead her team to National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 3 championships in 2011 and 2012 and to a third-place finish in the 2012 NJCAA national championship tournament in 2012…Was a two-time NJCAA All-American, First Team All-Region pick and First Team Mid State Athletic Conference all-star (2011 and 2012)…Was the Mid State Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year and her school’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2012…Also played soccer at Tompkins Cortland, where she twice earned All-American, All-Region and All-Conference honors…Was named NJCAA Region 3 Athlete of the Year as a junior in 2010-11…Played softball for coach Pete Graham at Corning (NY) East High School.
 
Personal: Samijo, the daughter of Robert and Marietta Scheer, is an athletic training major…Played goalkeeper for the AU women’s soccer team two seasons, earning First Team Empire 8 Conference honors last fall.
