Mark Corso joined the Alfred University Athletics coaching staff in 2015-16 as the Assistant Coach for both the women's basketball team and the softball team. He joined the men's basketball coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in the 2017-18 season.
Coach Corso's coaching began after taking Genesee-Livingston-Steuben-Wyoming Boces coaching classes. He began coaching varsity girls basketball in 1998 at various local high schools and continued with varsity girls basketball for nine years highlighted by a class DD sectional title in 2001. Then Corso switched to boys J.V. basketball and coached boys teams for four more years highlighted by three consecutive years of Steuben county championship games winning two and also having a 19-0 team in 2008. He also has coached boys soccer for two years and softball for eight years at local area high schools, and also spent two seasons as a assistant softball coach at a local college. "I’m very happy to be coaching at Alfred University, the facilities are first-rate as well as my fellow coaches, also the athletes I'm proud to coach are hard workers and fun to be around," said Corso.
