Kendall Watkins

Kendall Watkins joined the AU Softball coaching staff as an assistant coach in August 2020. Watkins will serve as the infield coach, and will assist the coaching staff in recruiting, practice planning, and game day management.

Watkins comes to the valley after a solid playing career at Niagara University. The four-year letter winner played in 150 of Niagara’s 152 contests as an infielder, serving as the team’s co-captain. She burst onto the scene as a rookie, starting all 45 contests with a .320 batting average and a .447 on-base percentage, fifth in the MAAC. She also led the team with seven home run and set a program record with 27 walks. It was more than enough to earn a spot on the MAAC All-Rookie team. As a junior, Watkins helped lead the Purple Eagles to a surprising run in the conference tournament, winning three consecutive elimination games before falling in the semifinal. She finished her career in Niagara with 115 hits and 76 RBI. Off the field, Watkins was a three-time MAAC All-Academic selection. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology this past May, earning magna cum laude distinction.

Watkins, a native of Williamsport, Pa., was a four-year, first-team all-conference selection at Loyalsock Township High School. She earned all-state honors three times and was named the Pennsylvania PIAA Class AA State Player of the Year in 2016.
