ALFRED, NY - A total of eight Saxons from the Alfred University women's rugby team were named as 2025-26 National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Scholastic All-Americans following the 2025-26 academic year.
The representatives for Alfred University included
Alyssa Ainsworth (Vestal, NY/Corning-Painted Post),
Danielle Bennett (Hammondsport, NY/Hammondsport Central),
Zia Oellig (Colorado Springs, CO/Fountain Valley School of Colorado),
Allison Parnes (New Hyde Park, NY/Homeschool),
Cori Recktenwald (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post),
Samantha Stock (Ellicottville, NY/Ellicottville Central),
Amelia Ren Vermeer (Des Moines, IA/Theodore Roosevelt) and
Jordayn Williams (Palmdale, CA/Quartz Hill).
"I am incredibly proud of this group who have demonstrated their leadership on the pitch and in the classroom throughout the course of the entire year," Director of Rugby/Head Coach
Dr. Nicole Bernsen said. "They are role models on our team and across campus."
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA or higher for the academic year and be rostered for at least 50 percent of the A-side matches during the Fall XVs or Spring 7s seasons.
