ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's tennis team is now on a four-match win streak following Saturday's 6-1 over St. John Fisher University during Senior Day.
The Saxons (6-5, 4-3 Empire 8) added the Cardinals (6-3, 5-2 Empire 8) to their streak of defeating Russell Sage College, Fredonia and SUNY Cortland since the previous Saturday.
"I am so proud of our group. Today was about the seniors but everybody showed up ready to work," Head Coach
Jordan Crouch said. "We knew Fisher would be a tough task but we were confident we would be ready. We were hot from the very first serve to the last. Could not be prouder of this team. Special shoutout to Alyssa, Liz and Allison. They have been incredible leaders and stewards of this program and I have been honored that they're sharing their time with us. Cannot wait for our last week of regular season to get ready for playoffs coming up! LET'S GO SAXONS!"
AU got things started by earning the doubles point with a near-sweep of the lineup.
Allison Windisch (Pittsford, NY/Sutherland) and
Alexis Gits (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) won No. 3, 6-2. The doubles point was secured as
