ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2025 season with a 21-10 win over SUNY Poly on Saturday.
Prior to the game, the Saxons honored graduating seniors
Shyanne Trinh (Stoughton, MA/Stoughton),
Sarah Anderson (Wayne, PA/Radnor),
Nora Vick (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and
Amelia Booth (Staatsburg, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt).
"It was great to end our season on a high note," Head Coach
Julie Decker said. "Amelia had an amazing day to come away as the program's all-time leader in goals and points. She is an incredible talent, but it would not have been possible without the play of her teammates this year, as well as the last three years. This was a great team win today as we showed amazing teammwork to fire on all cylinders all over the field. We are proud of the progress we've made this year. Our youth gained a lot of experience this year as impact players and we are hopeful for the years to come!"
Booth ended her collegiate career on a high note as she became the school's all-time leader in career goals (202) and points (253). She led the way with a career-high 14 points on a career-high 10 goals and four assists to earn her 200th career goal and 250th career point. Booth surpassed Lauren D'Aurio '00 in both categories. She also posted a game-high 12 draw controls to finish her career with a total of 409.
Kylee Bedette (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) registered three goals along with a career-high three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Megan Rinker (Le Roy, NY/Le Roy) and
Cassidy Primrose (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) each notched two goals while combining for nine caused turnovers. Four other Saxons scored one goal apiece. Anderson picked up a career-high six ground balls.
Alfred University (6-10, 3-6 Empire 8) outshot SUNY Poly (1-13, 0-9 Empire 8), 40-15, with 24-9 in between the pipes. The Saxons also picked up a season-high 32 ground balls and won a season-high 20 draw controls.
