ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University field hockey team hosted St. John Fisher University on Wednesday evening at Yunevich Stadium and dropped a 10-0 Empire 8 loss to the visitors.
 
The Saxons (0-11, 0-5 Empire 8) held the Cardinals (6-4, 4-1 Empire 8) to only two goals between the second and third quarters, but a three-goal opening period and a five-goal fourth made the final score lopsided.
 
Molly Howlett (Brockport, NY/Brockport) continued to impress in goal for the Saxons as she faced a total of 47 shots with 35 on goal. She made 25 saves to keep the score from getting away even more.
 
The Saxons had one penalty corner attempt while the Cardinals had 19 attempts.
 
The Saxons will next travel to Utica University for Empire 8 action on Saturday, October 11 at 4:00pm.
