ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's swimming & diving team defeated visiting NCAA Division II opponent, Roberts Wesleyan University, 196-97 on Wednesday evening from the McLane Natatorium.
"It was another great showing for the Saxons this evening! There were some great things for us to be excited about as we continue to look great both in our swimming events and our diving," Head Coach
Brian Striker '00 said. "We had many in-season best performances tonight. I have been thoroughly impressed with the effort we have been putting forth every day. That was my first time competing against Roberts Wesleyan, it was a fun meet – great swimming and diving on both sides. We have a quick turnaround as we need to get ready for Brockport on Saturday…so back in the water in the morning. Congratulations to Youssef for breaking our school record in the 100-backstroke!"
The Saxons had three athletes record four victories each in the dominant win.
Youssef amr Abdallatif (Cairo, Egypt/Raya Language School) had two relay wins and two individual wins. The two individual wins were both pool records, breaking his own mark in both of the backstroke events, while his 100-yard backstroke time broke the overall school record time of 50.46, set by
