BROCKPORT, NY – The Alfred University field hockey team entered October with a 7-0 road loss at SUNY Brockport in Empire 8 action on Wednesday.
Molly Howlett (Brockport, NY/Brockport) totaled 17 saves in goal, being the first game where the Saxons (0-8, 0-4 Empire 8) didn't split halves between goalies. The 17 saves is a new team-high for the season in the program's first inaugural year. In total, the Golden Eagles (6-4, 3-0 Empire 8) fired off 30 shots with 24 on-target. They also held a distinct advantage in penalty corners, totaling 15 as AU had taken none.
The Saxons will next host their first ever home game on Saturday, October 4 at 4:30pm. They host Elmira College during Homecoming/Family Weekend.
