ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's Elizabeth Share (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) earned Empire 8 Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week during her inaugural season on Monday.
 
Share was undefeated in individual events against both SUNY Geneseo and Hartwick College. She won the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly in both meets. On Wednesday, Share broke the Alfred University McLane Natatorium pool record in the 100-back with a time of 1:00.52, breaking the 2015 record of 1:00.60 set by Chrissy Behr '15 MS '18. Share's time was over three seconds faster than the rest of the pool. She then beat out the remaining competition in the 200-yard backstroke by over five seconds with a time of 2:11.08 and ended her midweek individual competition with a 1:01.71 victory in the 100-fly against the Knights. On Saturday's regular season finale, Share started the day off with a 1:00.96 in the 100-back, almost a full five seconds faster than the rest of the pool. She was almost eight seconds faster than everyone in the 200-back, clocking a 2:12.88, just prior to her time of 1:02.50 in the 100-fly to pick up her sixth win of the week.
 
Share was also named a Saxon of the Week on Monday along with men's swimming & diving's Carlos Gonzalez (Baja California, Mexico/Unifront).
