ALFRED, NY – The Empire 8 announced on Monday afternoon that Alfred University's Ivy Vallely (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) was named the E8 Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week, as made official in an announcement by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Vallely led the Saxons in their season-opener at RIT on Saturday afternoon. She finished third in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:28.91. Then, she finished third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:55.38.
 
She was joined in Monday's conference selections by Alfred University women's soccer player, Kiani Barnard-Pratt (Westford, MA/Westford Academy) as the Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Vallely and the Saxons will next host Nazareth College on Friday, October 28 at 5:00pm.
