ITHACA, NY – The Alfred University women's swimming & diving team continued their second day of competition at the Ithaca Invitational on Saturday.
Victoria Cramp (Hornell, NY/Hornell) represented the Saxons in the 3-meter dive, finishing in 10th with a score of 324.75.
Macie Francisco (Vestal, NY/Vestal) led AU in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:46.90.
Rachel Flaherty (Middlebury, CT/Pomperaug) finished the 100-yard backstroke in 1:07.55. She was followed by
Sarah Anderson (Wayne, NY/Radnor), who finished with a time of 1:11.72.
In the 100-yard backstroke,
Mia Spencer (Omaha, NE/Omaha Central) set a career-best time of 1:13.70.
Flaherty and Francisco were joined by
Erika Purdy (Syracuse, NY/Cicero North) and
Ivy Vallely (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) in the 800-yard freestyle relay, as the Saxons finished with a time of 8:57.57.
"Today was a pretty good day," Head Coach
Brian Striker said. "As a team, we made moves stemming from solid performances from our IM and stroke. Victoria led the way for the women. Hard work and adjustments have clearly paid off. With another big session tomorrow, we look to close out the first half of our season on a good note."
The Saxons will next conclude the Ithaca Invitational on Sunday with events beginning at 10:00 AM.
