ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University western equestrian team earned high point team in both the morning and evening shows on Saturday from the Bromeley-Daggett Equestrian Center at Maris Cuneo Equine Park.

"Great weekend glad to be back competing again," Head Coach Steve Shank said. "I am proud of the strong efforts of our teams."

Jill Frazo (Bloomfield, NY/Bloomfield) led the way as she totaled four blue ribbon finishes on the day, winning level two horsemanship and ranch riding in the morning and evening shows.

Frazo's wins weren't the only ones as Emma Suplicki (Holland, NY/Holland) won her first IHSA class in level one, leading a 1-2-3-4 finish in horsemanship. Jackie Schurpfeil (Whitinsville, MA/Norfolk County Agricultural), Natalie Waddell (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) and Megan Cochran (Brockport, NY/Kendall) followed in the discipline, taking second, third and fourth, respectively.

Placid Finch (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) picked up the heat one win in rookie horsemanship, qualifying for IHSA Regionals in the rookie division. Jenevieve Huta earned the blue ribbon in beginner horsemanship, leading a bevy of Saxons in a finish in the discipline that took all the top seven finishes except for second place.

In the evening show, Madeline Sweet (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro Area) was the reserve high point rider. On the day, Sweet had three second place finishes behind Frazo with two occurring in the evening show in level two horsemanship and ranch riding.

Amber O'Toole (Simi Valley, CA/Simi Valley) won open reining in the nightcap show. Suplicki got the 'W' in level one horsemanship for the second time of the day. Tara Linneman (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) won the first heat of the rookie horsemanship before Huta picked up another blue ribbon in beginner horsemanship, closing out the Saturday showing.
