FREDONIA, NY – The Alfred University women's tennis team lost to Fredonia on Tuesday evening, 9-0 on the road.
 
The Saxons (0-4, 0-0 Empire 8) had two close singles matches on the day as Lauren Boshart (Oswego, NY/Oswego) fell at No. 2, 6-7, 3-6 and Amber Smith (Prattsburgh, NY/Prattsburgh Central) lost at No. 3, 5-7, 0-6.
 
"Today was a tough one for us against a strong Fredonia opponent," Head Coach Jordan Crouch said. "I'm happy that we worked hard and battled back in singles after our doubles matches didn't bounce our way."
 
The Saxons will next host Nazareth College on Friday, September 13 at 4p.m. at the William T. Brown Tennis Courts as they open Empire 8 play.
