ONEONTA, NY – The Alfred University women's soccer team fell to Hartwick College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 2-0. The Saxons fall to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the Empire 8.
 
 
It was a defensive battle in the first half with both teams staying scoreless at halftime. The Hawks broke through in the second half during the 58^thminute on a header goal. Hartwick extended its lead in the 82^ndminute to go up 2-0 and secure the victory. 
 
 
Makenzie Cashmer (Weedville, PA/ Elk County Catholic) played all 90 minutes and had six saves for AU.
 
 
"We had a tough time getting anything going today," Head Coach Craig Yanni said. "Today was a good game to show us what we need to work on to be able to compete moving forward." 
 
 
Alfred will travel to Buffalo State for a matchup with the Bengals on Wednesday at 6PM
