ONEONTA, NY – The Alfred University women's lacrosse team fell in Empire 8 action, 24-1 to Hartwick College on the road on Friday.

The Saxons (0-6, 0-2 Empire 8) had their lone goal scored by
Miranda Gilbert (Watertown, NY/Watertown). Gilbert also led AU in shots (4) and draw controls with five.
Jacquelynn Hicks (Greenville, NY/Greenville) and
Allison Hanvey (Camden, NY/Camden) both had four draw controls.
"We continue to improve every aspect of our play and find new combinations," Head Coach
Erin McGaffigan said. "Today we showed very well on the draw and I am very happy with the work we did, especially in the second half."

Emily MacWilliams (Geneva, NY/Waterloo) had four of the Saxons' 12 groundballs.

Paige Rowlee (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) got her first start in net as she faced 40 shots (31 on goal) and made seven saves.

In total, the Saxons took eight shots with five on goal.

The Saxons will next host Hilbert College in non-conference play on Wednesday, April 4 at 5PM.
