UTICA, NY—The Alfred University women's lacrosse team fell to Empire 8 opponent Utica College, 15-2, Saturday afternoon at Gaetano Stadium in Utica, NY.
 
Senior attack Kaitlyn Button (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) was the lone Saxon to score on the afternoon.  Button also led AU with two draw controls.  Freshman attack Miranda Gilbert (Watertown, NY/Watertown) paced the Saxons with four ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control.  Junior midfielder Kerry Mack (Weedsport, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) and freshman goalie Shannon Gray (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) had three ground balls each.
 
Gray was in goal for the entire game for AU, making 10 saves.  A trio of goalies played for Utica (Kells Casey, Anastacia Faso, and Erin Jacobson), with each making two saves.
 
Alfred University (2-6, E8 0-4) looks to bounce back Sun. April 12, when they travel to Ithaca to take on the Bombers in an Empire 8 showdown.
