ALFRED, NY—The Alfred University women's lacrosse team fell to the St. John Fisher Cardinals, 18-2, Friday evening at Yunevich Stadium.

Kaitlyn Button (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) chipped in with the first goal for the Saxons right before the half, weaving between Fisher defenders. Junior
Kerry Mack (Weedsport, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) netted the second goal for AU off a free position shot she bounced low and hard past the Fisher goalie. Samantha Barton paced the Cardinals with four goals and five draw controls.

Shannon Gray (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) was in goal for the Saxons, making 11 saves and tallying four groundballs to lead the team. Gray also caused one turnover to pace AU on defense.

The Saxons (0-3, E8 0-1) have a quick turnaround as they return to action Sat. March 28, to take on Empire 8 opponent, Houghton College.
