McLane Center
The James A. McLane Physical Education Center houses the Terry S. Galanis Family Arena, the McLane Natatorium, Gibbs Fitness Center, McLane Center Classroom and the athletic coaches and staff offices as well as multiple varsity and general use locker rooms. The facility is named in honor of former Alfred University Athletic Director James A. McLane. McLane served as the athletic director at AU from 1933 to 1970. During his tenure he oversaw the rapid expansion of the University's physical education program, with strong emphasis on intramural athletics.
The McLane Center is the hub of AU varsity sports and intramural activity on campus. The varsity teams that compete in the facilities within McLane are:

- Cheerleading
- Swimming & Diving
- Volleyball
