ALFRED, NY —Dylan Staniszewski (Oakton, VA/Oakton), a sophomore on the Alfred University women's swimming and diving team, has earned Alfred University Female Athlete of the Week honors.
                
Staniszewski was also named the Empire 8 Female Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Monday. She was honored for her performance in Saturday's dual-meet loss at home to Ithaca College. Staniszewski won three individual events against Ithaca: the 400 individual medley (4:48.13), the 200 freestyle (2:01.54) and 500 freestyle (5:27.54).
                
Alfred is idle until the Upper New York State College Swimming Association (UNYSCSA)/Empire 8 Conference championships, Feb. 18-21, in Webster, NY.
