Alvarez Janik went undefeated on the week from both No. 1 doubles and singles, helping the Saxons go 1-1 in Empire 8 action. He began his week with a 6-3 No. 1 doubles win over Houghton’s Rune Camps and Eben Schilke, teaming up with Anlun Zwerver. The Saxons played Houghton as the home team for Senior Day, despite having to play on the road at Houghton’s indoor courts. Alvarez Janik then picked up a 6-1, 6-1 No. 1 singles win against Camps to close out his Wednesday against the Highlanders. He then teamed with Zwerver to take down the No. 1 doubles team of Tyler Hernandez and Will Chubb of St. John Fisher University on Saturday from the Saxons’ home courts. They defeated the Cardinal duo, 6-1. Alvarez Janik then defeated Hernandez, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 in No. 1 singles.Â
