ALFRED, NY-- Tyler Johnson (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) has been named the AU Male Athlete of the Week for his performance in AU's victory over Empire 8 foe, Frostburg State.
Johnson was a major part of the Saxon's victory last Saturday, throwing for 189 yds on 12 passes and rushing for 108 yds and two touchdowns. The first touchdown, a five yard rush, came with 34 seconds left in the first quarter to put the Saxons ahead 7-0. Johnson then extended the Saxon lead to 14-3 with 8:51 left to go in the third quarter.Â
The AU football team moved to 4-3 (Empire 8 2-3) on the season and look to win their second game in a row when they head to Salisbury on Saturday, Nov. 1st at 12pm.
