ALFRED, NY-- Jeff Thomas (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) has been named the Alfred University Male Athlete of the Week following a week where he led the team to two ties against Houghton College and SUNY Fredonia.

Over the course of the week, Thomas scored two penalty kick goals, which were critical in both games.  Both games ended in 2-2 ties.  

The two goals improve Thomas' goal total to five on the year (team best) and 21 over the course of his strong career.  Thomas also has two assists on the season.

Thomas and the men's soccer team (6-4-2 Empire 8 2-1-1) are in action again Tuesday, Oct. 14th at home against Buffalo State.
