Bennett totaled 47 strikeouts in the Saxons’ 6-2 week, only falling to regionally-ranked University of Rochester in two closely-contested matches. Bennett finished the week 5-1 as she is now second in school history for career wins with 40, season wins with 18, strikeouts with 372 and single season shutouts with six. On Sunday, Bennett totaled 17 strikeouts against Elmira College to surpass All-American and Saxon great, Jessica Wilcox ’20, ’21 MBA who had 15 in 2021 against Utica. Prior to Sunday’s game, Bennett totaled a career-high 11 K’s against RIT. She only gave up five runs on the week with four being earned out of her 30.0 innings pitches. Outside of U. of R.’s 11 hits on Thursday against her, Bennett only gave up a total of 13 hits in the other five games with only three hits in conference action on Sunday. On Senior Day, she even stepped to the plate to go 2-for-2 with two RBI and a hit and walked once.
