ALFRED, NY-- Mary Baughman (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) has been named the Alfred University female athlete of the week.
Baughman, who was also named the Empire 8 Runner of the Week, receives this award for her performance at William Smith College on Saturday where she came home with first place with a time of 24:09 on the six-kilometer course. The runner up in the race was 31 seconds behind Baughman.
This is Baughman's second win of two races in the young season, with her first win coming at the two mile course at Houghton College with a time of 11:57.
Baughman and the AU cross country team are in action again September 20th, at Houghton College.
