Sophomore Leah Harkenrider helped the Saxons end the season with a perfect, 2-0 week against the No. 3 seeded Nazareth College and No. 4 seeded Utica University. She helped AU’s women’s basketball team have the best overall record in 25 years and record the Saxons’ most conference wins in school history, ending the season with a 13-12 overall record and an 8-8 Empire 8 record. Harkenrider scored a collegiate career-high 21 points in AU’s stunning, fourth quarter comeback win over Utica University. She was 5-for-9 from beyond the 3-point arc and was 8-for-15 in total from the floor. Harkenrider was one rebound short of tying her season-high rebounds mark as she had seven in the Saturday contest, pulling in four offensive boards and three defensive. She had six points, one steal, one block, one assist and one rebound in the Saxons’ first win over Nazareth College since 2011.
