Junior Lauren Serotta had an outstanding week as she competed in three meets in which she won every backstroke event against Division II Le Moyne College and Empire 8 foes, Utica College and Hartwick College as well as posting the top times for the backstroke leg of the 200-yard medley relays she swam in last week. She got things started at Le Moyne College on Tuesday as she had the fastest backstroke split with a 28.71, beating three of the Division II Dolphins. Serotta then won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.43, over two seconds faster than the rest of the lanes. She almost defeated her opponents by almost four seconds in the 200 backstroke, swimming a 2:16.83 for her second win of the week. Her backstroke dominance continued into the weekend as she didn’t have to swim that stroke against Utica but swept both events against Hartwick College. Her backstroke leg of the 200 medley relay was a 28.83, almost three seconds faster than the other two Hartwick backstrokers. Serotta won the 100 with a time of 1:03.14 which was more than two seconds faster than the other lanes before clinching the 200 with a time of 2:15.88. Serotta had three other wins on the week that occurred against Utica College with two of them being exhibitioned that late in the meet. She won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:23.69 which was more than four seconds faster than everyone else. She posted the top time in the 100 yard breaststroke, as she is not traditionally a swimmer in that event, with a time of 1:17.70 just before teaming up for a top time of 1:50.42 in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Serotta also picked up two second place finishes on the week, swimming a 1:03.82 in the 100 butterfly against Le Moyne and a 1:03.80 in the same event at Hartwick. In total, she had seven wins on the week.
