Senior Kyle Kemper’s No. 4 singles win over Nazareth’s William Britton was the match-clinching win to solidify the Saxons’ first Empire 8 playoff appearances since 2006, which every team in the Empire 8 played in the playoffs. Kemper and fellow senior, Peter Smock, teamed for the Saxons’ lone win in doubles at the No. 2 spot where they topped Ryley Amond and Ryan Lalik, 8-3, sending the Saxons into singles with a 2-1 deficit. Smock, Logan Cross and Ryan Brown all won their matches in singles prior to Kemper going into a third set tiebreaker. Kemper took the first set, 6-3 before falling, 6-4 in the second set. During the deciding set, Kemper fired on all cylinders as he won, 6-1.
