Sophomore Shane Weber had a dominant week, defensively. He led the Saxons in ground balls and caused turnovers during Alfred University's 1-1 week. Weber had an outstanding, 11 ground balls and six caused turnovers against Elmira College in the Saxons' Empire 8 Conference-opening win. Earlier in the week, he had eight ground balls and five caused turnovers against Oswego State. In both games, Weber took one shot, put it on goal and behind the goalie as he tallied his first two goals of the season. He also was credited with an assist in both matches. During his first season as a Saxon, Weber totaled two goals and one assist as he now stands above his previous season. He also had a total of 33 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers while he now sits at 42 and 26, respectively, en route to breaking all of his season marks.
