Sammy Jo Shanahan amassed a lot of saves despite going 0-3 on the week. She still holds a positive 7-6 record in goal on the season. Shanahan totaled 33 saves on the week (11 saves per game) with a new career-best performance against #5 nationally-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday during Empire 8 action. The junior stopped 20 of the 23 shots on goal from the Ducks after facing a season-high 46 shots. Two of those shots on goal were stopped by Saxon defenders. Shanahan added 11 saves against Ithaca College, making it the third time this season that she had 11 in a single contest. She also had two against Nazareth College.
