Christopher Deaver claimed his place among the bests of the Empire 8 and the state in diving during the Empire 8/UNYSCSA Championships this past week. He earned All-Empire 8 First Team Honors with his first place (second in UNYSCSA) finish during the 1-meter diving with a score of 470.50. This also puts him at #2 in Alfred's all-time scorers list for the 11-dive, 1-meter event just behind Kameron Chambliss's 477.40 record set in 2010. Deaver also earned All-Empire 8 Second Team Honors on the 3-meter board with his second place (fourth in UNYSCSA) finish of 494.75 points. He is also #2 on the school's record list behind Chambliss's 501.15 points that was also set in 2010. In total, Deaver scored 54 of the team's 398 team points on their way to a ninth place finish in the UNYSCSA meet and fifth in the Empire 8.
