ALFRED, NY—Senior Alison Wickwire (Towanda, PA/Towanda) has been named the Alfred University Female Athlete of the Week following her stellar performance during the 2015 Spring Break trip to Tuscon, AZ.
Wickwire, a pitcher/first basemen combo, batted .351 during the 12-game stretch, knocking in 13 RBIs and three homeruns. She also scored 10 runs while hitting five doubles. On the defensive side of the ball she touted a .979 fielding percentage. She also went 3-1 on the mound, finishing the week with a 3.50 ERA, 35 strikeouts, and four walks.
Wickwire and the Saxons are currently on a short hiatus, but return to the field Friday, March 27 to open Empire 8 play against Houghton College in Alfred, NY.
