2014-15 Video Interviews: vs Hartwick Highlights | vs Fredonia Highlights 2014: Placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 free, and sixth and ninth, respectively, in the 100 back at the Empire 8 and UNYSCSA championships…Took third in the 100 free at both championship meets…Swam on teams that took third in the 400 and 800 free relays and fourth in the 200 free relay at the UNYSCSA meet…Set a new school record in the 100 freestyle (45.68)...Also swam on teams that set new school marks in the 800 free relay (6:47.09), 400 free relay (3:04.43) and 200 free relay (1:23.53)…Tied for the team lead with wins in 12 dual meet events…Also swam on five winning dual-meet relay teams.
2013: Placed ninth in the 100 freestyle and 10
th in the 200 freestyle at the UNYSCSA and Empire 8 Conference championships meets; took 12
th and 16
th, respectively the Empire 8 and UNYSCSA championships…Swam on teams that took fourth in the 400 freestyle and 800 freestyle relays, sixth in the 200 free relay and eighth in the 200 medley relay at the UNYSCSA meet…Had six individual race wins and swam on five winning relays in dual-meet action.
2012: Was 16th in the 100 free, 18th in the 100 back and 21st in the 50 free…Swam on the 400 and 200 free relay teams that each placed fourth at the state championships…Had one individual win in dual meets while swimming on three winning relays.
Before AU: Swam at Dansville (NY) High School, helping the Mustangs to the Section V, Class C championship in 2011 and Livingston County Athletic Association titles in 2010 and 2011…Was Section V Swimmer of the Meet at the 2011 sectional championships and was part of eight school and pool records set during his high school career.
Personal: David, the son of David and Cheryl Coombs, is a criminal justice major.
