Box Score ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's basketball team downed visiting Elmira College, 80-64, Saturday afternoon at McLane Center. This win moves AU up to 10-2 on the season and 3-0 in Empire 8 play.

Jeremy Johnson (Martinsburg, WV/Martinsburg (Shepherd University)) lifted AU to a 17-point lead (35-18) with 2:27 left in the first half and te Saxons led 39-25 at halftime.
The Soaring Eagles cut the deficit to three points (46-43) with 14 minutes left in the second half, but Alfred re-established their lead back to 12 points (64-52) when freshman guard
Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) buried a three-pointer, at the 7:15 minute mark.
For the game, Alfred shot 42 percent from the field, 26 percent from beyond the arc, and 67 percent from the free-throw line.
Seelman finished with a team-high 13 points, and had three assists, a block and a steal. Lothridge and senior guard
Thomas Tsatsis (Neponsit, NY/Townsend Harris) both chipped in with 10 points. Junior guard
Tim Pacheco (Mt. Pocono, PA/Pocono Mountain East) dished out a team-best six assists, and sophomore guard
Jerry Kincel (Moosic, PA/Riverside) led the team in rebounds with eight.
Alfred's 3-0 mark in Empire 8 play represents the Saxons' best-ever start to conference play in the league's 15-year history.
Alfred resumes play on Friday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m. against Hartwick College.
