BROCKPORT, NY – Senior
Miasia Hillman (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech) won one event and was second in another in the Alfred University women's indoor track and field team's season opener Saturday at SUNY Brockport.
Hillman won the 60-meter dash (7.82 seconds) and was runner-up in the 300-meter dash (42.70 seconds). Her time in the 300 meters set a new school record, while her time in the 60 meters, just 1/100th of a second off her own school record, was the second fastest in the nation among Division III athletes on the opening weekend. There were no team scores Saturday, but several Saxons joined Hillman in posting top-10 performances.

Mary Baughman (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) was second in the 3,000-meter run, with her time of 10:34.82 (seventh-fastest in the nation on opening weekend) breaking her own school record, while freshman
Lindsay Piraino (Nunda, NY/Keshequa) was fourth (11:02.11); freshman
Mijoi Powell was eighth in the 300-meter dash (44.82); and sophomore
Marissa Colburn (Bridgeport, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) and junior
Morgan Flick (Honeoye, NY/Honeoye) were ninth (1:31.91) and 1-th (1:32.76), respectively, in the 500-meter run.
