KEUKA PARK, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team knocked off host Keuka College, 8-1, Thursday afternoon.
The Saxons swept three doubles matches and won five of six in singles action to take the non-league contest and improve to 4-3 on the season.
Earning singles wins for the Saxons were junior
Connor Doud (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa), 8-0 in first singles; junior
Kevin Volz Olean, NY/Olean), 8-6 in fourth singles; senior
Michael Graham (Elmira, NY/Southside), 8-2 in third singles; junior
Matt Baloga (Goshen, NY/Goshen), 8-2 in fourth singles; and sophomore
Patrick Brown (Olean, NY/Olean), 8-1 in fifth singles.
Doud and Volz won first doubles, 8-0; Brown and Graham took second doubles, 8-1; and Baloga and freshman
Mike Wisniewski (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville East) won third doubles, 8-3.
Alfred plays next on Saturday, April 11, at 1 p.m. at Empire 8 foe Utica.
