Football, basketball and track & field at Alfred University. Captain of the basketball team. Played high school sports at Warsaw High School. Scored touchdown in 7-3 win over Buffalo in 1920. Played professional football in the National Football League against Hall of Famer Jim Thorpe. Served in the Navy during both World Wars. Catcher in semi-pro baseball for many years. Played for the Rochester Jeffersons of the NFL for five seasons.
